Health & Healing

The origins of Qi Gong, a branch of Chinese medicine, can be traced to martial artists.  It became clear that if a warrior were not healthy then all the training in the world would not make them into a strong army.  In order to maintain health and strength the Chinese cultivated their Qi, or life force energy.  Interestingly enough quantum physics is now proving that, just as the ancient Chinese said, everything is energy.  The Chinese just called it Qi!

As part of instruction at Strong Mountain Kung Fu School There is a great deal of Chinese medical theory as well as western anatomy.  Learning how Qi flows and how it is affected by emotions, the foods we eat, the air we breathe and the energies of those around us is an important part of the curriculum.

Besides the regular curriuclum, Shifu Glen Moore also teaches several other health and healing classes including all four levels of Touch for Health Kinesiology, classes on breathing and meditation and fundamentals of Five Element theory.    Some of these classes are eligable for CE for massage therapists.  In addition to these, all three levels of Usui Reiki are taught.
